Hebe stricta var egmontiana is a vigorous, compact, evergreen, bushy shrub, which grows to 40 in (1 m) or more high. The green leaves are narrow, spear-shaped, 2.4–4 in (6–10 cm) long and about 0.4 in (1 cm) wide. Lilac or white flowers in summer to autumn. It is found in lowland to subalpine areas on Mount Taranaki (Mount Egmont), North Island, New Zealand, and possibly eastwards. Its compact habit and narrow leaves distinguish it from other varieties of Hebe stricta. |
