Hebe ‘Wiri Image’
Hebe ‘Wiri Image’ forms a bushy, compact, evergreen shrub, growing to 40 in (1 m) or more high. The dark green, spear-shaped leaves are 0.8–2 in (2–5 cm) long, and are somewhat upright. The flowers are violet, fading with age, summer. Jack Hobbs raised this hebe cultivar in 1982 at the Auckland Regional Botanic Garden, New Zealand, as part of a program to breed hebes suitable for the Auckland climate. A trim after flowering keeps the plant compact. |
