The Nursery stocks a wide range of native plants, from ground covers and wetland species to large specimen trees. It has become known for producing some of the more interesting and unusual New Zealand native plants, encompassing many rare and difficult-to-grow species that are not available elsewhere.. 131 hebes.

Regrettably, we send our plants overseas only for authorized scientific research projects.

The nursery has grown out of a conservation ethic, and we struggle in NZ to protect our flora from many introduced species. Some of these pest plants were considered harmless for long periods of time (even 50–100 years) before a critical mass was achieved, resulting in their becoming a severe problem.

There is now ample evidence of NZ native species becoming invasive in various habitats overseas. Many others may prove to become so over a period of time.

It is our wish to promote an awareness of ecology that recognises the dangers of random translocation of species.
