Brachyglottis elaeagnifolia (syn Senecio elaeagnifolius) is a stout, spreading, evergreen bush 4 ft (1.2 m) or more high. The leaves are green above, up to 3.5 in (9 cm) long; below covered with short light brown hairs. The flowers are of no great beauty.

Brachyglottis elaeagnifolia grows in upper mountain forest and scrub, from East Cape southwards, North Island, New Zealand. The shrubby senecios of New Zealand have been renamed Brachyglottis, which describes the short ray florets.
