Carmichaelia odorata ‘Lakeside’ is a much branched shrub, which can grow to 10 ft (3 m). The branches are spreading and flattened; the leaves are very divided (in the typical fashion of the pea family). The tiny flowers are white and purple. Hardy in the UK. Carmichaelia odorata grows in lowland to mountain areas of the North Island of New Zealand; from Gisborne southwards.
