Pittosporum dallii
Pittosporum dallii is a spreading, evergreen, large shrub or small tree, growing up to 20 ft (6 m) high. The leathery, dull, spear-shaped, green leaves, 2–4 in (5–10 cm) long, have a toothed edge, and are clustered towards the ends of the branches. Clusters of scented creamy-white flowers, summer. This beautiful, endangered plant is found in forest, forest edges and amongst rocks at a few isolated locations in the mountains of north-west Nelson, South Island, New Zealand. Pittosporum dallii is fairly hardy in the UK. |
