Gaultheria antipoda
Gaultheria antipoda (syn snowberry) is an erect or spreading evergreen shrub, which grows up to 40–80 in (1–2 m) high. The leathery, shiny leaves are round and toothed, 0.2–0.6 in (5–15 mm) long. Small, white, bell-shaped flowers in summer, followed by red, white or pink berries. Gaultheria antipoda is found in lowland to montane forest, scrub and rocky places, North Island, South Island and Stewart Island, New Zealand. |
