Kunzea ericoides

Kunzea ericoides (syn Leptospermum ericoides) is a large, evergreen shrub or small tree up to 50 ft (15 m) high. The leaves are small, pointed, and aromatic. The flowers are small, white, and 5 petalled. In flower mature specimens are covered in a mass of white blossom, although immature plants can flower less well. Fairly hardy in the UK. Kunzea ericoides is abundant in lowland and mountain forests, and shrublands, throughout the North and South Islands of New Zealand. In 1983 it was moved to Kunzea, due to its male floral characteristics. |
