Ranunculus insignis

Ranunculus insignis is an herbaceous plant, variable in size, growing up to 35 in (90 cm) high. The round leaves are thick, dark green, large, 4–6 in (10–16 cm) wide. The flowers are yellow, 0.8–2 in (2–5 cm) in diameter. Ranunculus insignis is found in shady areas of grasslands, herbfields, scrublands and rock outcrops, subalpine to low-alpine regions, of North Island and South Island, New Zealand. |
