Ranunculus lappaceus
Ranunculus lappaceus is an herbaceous plant, up to 6 in (15 cm) high, with a rosette of evergreen leaves. The leaves have three to five lobes, or deeply divided, are rounded in shape, typically 0.4–0.8 in (1–2 cm) in diameter. The flowers are yellow, with five petals, on a short stem. Ranunculus lappaceus is found in tussock grassland and in alpine places in North Island, South Island, and Stewart Island, New Zealand. The species is very variable, with several varieties being recognised. |
