Trichomanes reniforme
Trichomanes reniforme, kidney fern, forms large mats in the forests of North, South, Stewart and the Chatham Islands, New Zealand. The fronds are a distinctive kidney shape, 1.2–4 × 1.6–5 in (3–10 × 4–13 cm) and curl up in dry weather, recovering after rain. Trichomanes reniforme will tolerate a wide range of growing conditions, from damp forest to exposed lava fields. |
