Leptospermum scoparium ‘Red Damask’
Leptospermum scoparium ‘Red Damask’ is an upright, evergreen, bushy shrub growing to 6–10 ft (1.8–3 m) high. The small, narrow bronze-green leaves are up to 0.5 in (1.2 cm) long. The double deep-red long-lasting flowers are 0.6–0.7 in (1.5–1.8 cm) across; summer. Leptospermum scoparium ‘Red Damask’ was raised by Dr W E Lammerts of the University of California in 1939, who crossed Leptospermum scoparium ‘Nichollsii’ with one having double rose coloured flowers. |
